CARBON PAWPRINT?

CARBON PAWPRINT?

It's safe to say that most of us have thought about our own carbon footprint. Our carbon footprint is defined as the total greenhouse gas emissions caused by ourselves expressed as a carbon dioxide equivalent. But have you ever thought about your dog's carbon footprint?

In a recent study, dogs have been shown to contribute 10.5 million tons of greenhouse gases a year through their dietary intake alone. To put this into perspective this is enough to power 1.2 million homes' energy use for one year!!!

So what can we do to reduce this? We recently made some new friends on a new social platform called Clubhouse. It's a drop in audio platform available for iphones/ipads only at present. It's enabled us to meet some eco enthusiasts; one of which are the creators of Pet Panion.

Pet Panion creators, Madi and Qian highlighted "carbon pawprints" to us and how as pet owners we were responsible for our pet's impact on our planet. They have designed an app which allows you to calculate your pet's pawprint. How cool is that?

As well as resources for reducing your pet's impact, the app has been designed to be a one stop shop for pet's health. If you sign up to their plan, you'll get 24/7 access to a vet via digital consultation. This negates the need to travel to your vet thus reducing your carbon footprint! Your pets records can be seamlessly linked with your local vet so your pet's health records are complete!

Because we love their app so much, they have kindly given all our squad members a code which entitles you to two free consultations.
